Welcome to the 4th European Beecome congress in Malmö, Sweden,
March 11 until March 13 2016

This will be the big event for European beekeepers during 2016. Here you will be able to see the latest equipment, discuss the implication of the latest research results, and meet colleges, representatives for bee equipment firms and the speakers. Everything in a very nice setting at the new Malmö congress center, Malmö Live, in the very center of Malmö.

Beecome was started by EPBA (European Professional Beekeepers) four years ago in France. After that it has been held in Belgium and Germany with 3000-5000 visitors. Now the turn has come to Sweden. There are many beekeepers in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries and in northern Europe so we count on a large number of visitors.

Beecome is arranged by Biodlingsföretagarna (Swedish professional beekeepers), Sveriges Biodlares Riksförbund (Swedish Beekeepers Association), Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet (Swedish University of agricultural sciences) and EPBA

The conference

We promise you a very broad and interesting program with something for all tastes.  The topics will cover everything from research to practical beekeeping. Guest speakers are Keith Delaplane, Professor at University of Georgia, USA, Willie Robson, well known professional beekeeper from Scotland, Kaspar Bienefeld, from Research Institut Hohen Neuendorf, Marie-Pierre Chauzat, Doctor at the EU reference laboratory and the famous TV-chef Paul Svensson among others. Totally more than 30 speakers from all over Europe. Also representatives from Apimondia will be present.

The presentations will be given in parallel sessions.

Exhibition

A number of European beekeeping suppliers will show their machines and equipment in a well sized and nice exhibition area. You will find everything from extraction lines to knives but also information stands from organizations, authorities and similar.

Workshops

We will also set up special workshops where we bring together beekeeping suppliers to discuss different approaches to honey extraction. Spinning, separation or pressing? Wax screw, spinner or sieves? There are many different types of equipment and different ways to do it!
